МИР

Мир кожи и меха.

Мир, strictly speaking, can be translated as ' a world' (or as 'peace'), but it is also frequently used in a shops' names as a synonim of 'a shop'. For example, Мир электроники (World of electroniсs) or Детский мир (Children's world).

Кожа - leather. Leather jackets or coats are meant here.
Мех - fur. Fur-coats can be bought in this chain shop, too.

Sometimes these collocations look ridiculous: Мир калькуляторов - A world of calculators - looks like a fantastic movie title from 80s

Highest, farthest and fastest

The poster from USSR times.

The 'normal' form of 3 advers is:
Высоко - high
Далеко - far
Быстро - fast

If we want to compare smth, we need a comparative form:
Выше
Дальше
Быстрее

But a soviet pilot should be the best, so a superlative form is essential:

Выше всех - the highest; higher, than anybody else
Дальше всех -
Быстрее всех
Всех (or всего if talk about unnimated things) is all, that needed to make a superlative form of adjective or adverb.

No entrance!

Вход - an entrance. This word is easy to meet on a metro station door or a shop door. Be carefull of mixing it with выход - the exit.

Запрещен - is forbidden. You can see this word in some other combinations, as фотосъемка запрещена (No photo!).

Посторонний means a person, who doesn't live or work here, an extraneous person

So, if you don't feel, you have a strong connection with the place, which door has such a sign, don't enter))

Носки с доставкой

An ad printed on a pavement
Носки с доставкой на дом.

As one can see on the picture, носки are socks.

You don't even need to go somewhere to purchase them. They're to be delivered to your place: С доставкой на дом!
The phrase С доставкой на дом literary means 'with a delivery to you home', and can be seen very frequently in the pizza, tickets or gadgets ads.
На дом can be omit easily - Пицца с доставкой still has the same sense.

Два весёлых гуся

Два весёлых гуся is a name of a tale for children.

Гусь - goose.

Весёлый - cheerful

But we're interested not in a tale's plot, but in a tricky cases.

Maybe you know, that 2,3,4 are not a real plural in Russian.

Один гусь / (рубль)

Два, три, четыре + гуся / (рубля) (genetive singular)

Пять, шесть... + гусей / (рублей) (genetive plural)

Other examples: 2 дома, 2 года, 2 города, 2 доллара (+ а or я)

For feminine: 2 сестры, 2 машины, 2 подруги, 2 книги (ending а сhanges to ы or и)

But look at the adjective - it isn't весёлого as it must be in Genetive singular, but весёлых - Genetive plural. Despite the noun is in Genetive singular.

Два новых дома

Два интересных города

Два американских доллара
